Yes, I Can Hear You Now

I am officially imploring everyone I know to switch to Verizon, not because I feel it's the best cellular service (don't have an opinion), but because I just received this month's bill, and it's kind of a lot.

Funny thing happens when you don't have deadlines or structure to your day. You tend to talk on the phone. Quite a bit. And sure, in the back of your mind you think, "Bet this month's bill will be hefty", but when you think hefty, you're not thinking HEFTY. And so it was that this week I got a really fun surprise in the mail: the $500 cell phone bill. Ooops.

At this point, I think I need to get rid of my friends who aren't Verizon customers. I'll really miss them, but it has to be done. I can't afford to talk to them. Unfortunately, that leaves me with not that many people to talk to, and judging from my bill, I talk on the phone a lot, usually about really important things--me, for example. I need to hear people assure me that I'm okay. I need to hear this everyday, from many people, as I'm only in therapy one little hour a week. That hour goes by fast, too.

So the next few weeks will be extremely difficult for me as I ween myself off good friends. In the meantime, I am now seeking new friends. If anyone knows some cool folks with a Verizon plan, have them contact me. Perhaps I'll put up an online personal...

Laughs..I was just watching the show and found this site. Geez, $500. Sounds like the bill I had when I first got the Internet. Those long distance fees are a beast. I don't even think Verizon works in the boonies. So I guess you'll only be able to talk to city folks. :)

I hear there are whisperings of a Sprint/Verizon/Nextel merger to combat the Cingular/AT&T thing...
