New Website

I hope to put a website up of my very own creation. It will be full of mistakes and horrible code, but it will be mine, my little baby; a little baby with fetal alcohol syndrome or worse, or whatever the web equivalent of horrible disorders would be.

But I will love it just the same, and provide it with fresh content everyday, and play with it and let it run free. And if I give it enough attention and love, it may one day go viral, like the flu of 1918, or some new strain.

But it's not born yet. It's just a name right now.

Sounds like you are feeling better. Good to hear.

All good websites are filled with animated gif's, background images, MIDI music, and many many fonts in many sizes. I hope you put lots of these elements in there.

Excellent example: http://www.somethingawful.com/jeffk/

I was just revisiting the website I worked on in ... 1998. It's still going with the same design. Amazing. Needs more animated flash crap though. :)

How much would you charge to syndicate your collum (Weekly).

Ya got skills Sandy .. use them or lose them Suzy.. that's what I say Sally.

Seriously .. you should make your content available for RSS .. I'd pay.

Check out "Yes" magazine online http://www.yesmagazine.com/

They need good fresh content from a person like yourself.

you did say you were studying HTML didn't you? That's tight. I was studying that years ago when I had my classic webtv. I created a website but just remembered it. Man it was years ago and I don't even remember the URL, oh well. I'm sure I'm not missing much. I day go for it Swish, do you.

Laura, don't worry so much about mistakes and horrible code. I like what you have said and done here and elsewhere. Take that material, toss into any wysiwyg html editor, apply a template if you wish and upload. You’ll receive tons of input. Tweak as you go.

If, like I almost did, you hold off publishing until your site is absolutely perfect you’ll land up waiting years.

This is my little corner. http://www.geocities.com/thebestyearsofourlives/ Not much, just contact info, but it is all mine.

And don't forget to underline stuff for emphasis. Don't have a hyperlink on it, just an underline. People love to click on stuff they think is a hyperlink and nothin' happens.
