Why Aren't Heads Rolling?

Why is it that news of a Guantanamo detainee's interrogation/torture has sparked outrage, while the torture inflicted on millions of Americans everyday is NEVER addressed?

The often hour-by-hour log spans a period of 50 days from November 2002 to January 2003, during which time 16 of 19 additional interrogation techniques were approved by US Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld for use on specific detainees.

They included isolation for up to 30 days, removal of clothing, exploiting individual phobias and "mild, non-injurious physical contact." Such methods were later revoked.

The quizzing of al-Qahtani often started at midnight, Time magazine reports. He was woken up by having water dripped on his head or Aguilera's music played.

Republicans are even upset about this.

I ask you, why isn't Clear Channel being investigated? They've subjected us to way more hours of Christina's music than Al-whatshisname. And we're supposedly "free".

Where's the outrage, America?

I agree, can we also drag the people behind the Britney and Kevin show into an alley and beat them with a bag of rats?

Thanks for injecting some humor in this because the story is getting so nonsensical with all the media and Senators being outraged by this but not by any of the beheadings or even 9/11.

The military should use that Macy Gray and Ol Dirty Bastard song. Or they could use that "Crazy Frog Ringtone" that is the number one song in the UK.

Did anyone else read about the food that these terrorists are getting? It really pissed me off to read that we are feeding thes assholes so well but if the military was to give them the MREs that are troops eat in the field it would be considered torture. Also doesn't anyone remember the Al Qaida handbook that was found in Manchester, England that said if they were caught to complain about torture as soon as possible.

How did that audition go?

Sorry for the previous misspellings.

Bag of rats, lol.

Christina's music isn't *that* terrible. It's just pop candy. Mr. Bungle can be downright torture sometimes.

You know in the "Weezy and The Swish" logo it looks like Weezy is trying to grab ya, Swish. Or maybe she did and that's why you are doing that dance.

Hope Laura and all you guys in So. Cal. are okay after the earthquake.

I had a thought that since in the "Time" magazine article this terrorist al-Qahtani had a problem with the female interrogator interviewing him and getting in his "personal space" and we all have seen how these folks treat the women in their countries subhuman, on a level less then cattle. It occured to me that we should show these guys movies from the Lifetime Network and Oxygen and also some Oprah shows. They could also be shown movies such as "Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood" or "Kate & Leopold" or "The Joy Luck Club" and any other movies of that caliber.

This startegy should get the intel people the info that they want because what man could stand up to a forced onslaught of chick movies (for the real hardliners they could be forced to watch old Rosie O'Donnell shows). Plus the Human Rights people shouldn't have anything to complain because it wouldn't be torture but a plan to help these men better understand women and get in touch with their femine side.

I'm all about broad, sweeping generalisations about other cultures. Who's with me?

northside777 said...

Well I know that forcing women to wear Burkas is so enlightened in the 21st century.

Hey antonio I don't think that the above person was making a "sweeping generalisations about other cultures" because we are told by the media that these islamofascist make up a little more than 1% to 3% of the told muslim population. As for the islamofascist culture why don't you ask Daniel Pearl, Nick Berg, Kim Sun-Il, Paul Johnson, Eugene Armstrong, Raja Azad, Sajjad Naeem, Theo Van Gogh, any of the people killed on 9/11 at the World Trade Center or the Pentagon or on Flight 93. You could also ask all the Iraqi civilans that are now getting blown up each day by sucide bombers that come from the islamofacist education system. Maybe that will help you understaaaand the situation.

Danny Pearl was my friend and I don't really appreciate the reference.

I guess I try to avoid making the same mistakes the hijackers made when they decided that America as a whole is worth that kind of violent attack.

There are good folks and bad folks everywhere. I'm pretty sure that there might be some underlying causes that serve to reinforce the patriarchal cultures around the world, just as I'm sure that when police murder a man who is holding a beeper that there's probably something deeper at play.

Oh well, this has been another terrific and spirited interweb flamefest! Glad I was here.

As mobile phones gradually become the most common consumer electronics, ringtones will become more and more popular. And as mobile phones develop other mobile software applications will also gain much ground.
