Why Does Hasbro Hate New Jersey?

I feel like a piece of my childhood has died. Hasbro, the makers of Monopoly, have decided not to include Boardwalk in a special edition of the game. Boardwalk was, like, the crown jewel of Monopoly. Every time I played the game, I tried to get Boardwalk and Park Pl. I'd build hotels on those properties. And now they're being removed.

Nevermind that I've never won a game of Monopoly in my life. The point is, I can no longer execute my losing strategy.

What's next? Are they going to replace the dog with a more popular character? Get rid of the iron?

It's going to take some time to get used to this new America.

I understand that in trying to keep current they have replaced Boardwalk with the "Boulevard of Broken Dreams", the hotels are all Hiltons now and Chance cards have been replaced with "Celebrity".

Now, as promised, I give you a video of Laura blogging. Sure your thinking "ok what is it really?" It's really a video of Laura blogging. I don't remember this particular entry though - I think I would have:

Your welcome. Except you in the back there - move along.

Thanks for the link. I just added it to the Video Links on the page. Incidentally, Foy was supposed to be on the podcast last week. I'll have her on in the next month or so. I think.

Video link? Where? Hey vote on that sucka - it had no votes when I saw it last.

If you guys have Foy on W&TS demand a rematch. But make it Dead or Alive - you know, the Street Fighter thang with all the chicks in slinky outfits.

Monopoly: You can have my shoe when you pry it from my cold dead hands. Seriously that can't be true. Lose Boardwalk? Next thing you know Disneyland will get rid of "E" tickets.

That video was... awesome. How come I've never seen that? Gah!

My 2 sisters are 9 and 11 years older than me. When they played Monopoly with their teenage friends, at first I was only allowed to be the "banker." I didn't get to count the money or anything. My job was to be quiet and not bother anyone.
Eventually I got a chance to play. When I started beating them I was made the banker again. Although, this time they let me count the money.
I've seen a lot of Monopoly in my time, sometimes it seems that I can just "sense" things that other people don't notice.
I sensed something was wrong with that story.http://www.hasbro.com/monopoly/

There are many versions of Monopoly based on movies, TV, and different locations. It would be strange if Boardwalk was in the Harry Potter edition.
Somebody is trying to make themselves look more important by putting Hasbro down. I guess I hoped other people would notice. I'm disappointed in CNN

I've never actually finished a game of Monopoly.
