Oh No They DIH-ent!

Yes they did! Michael Steele is now the RNC chair.

Although it happened only moments ago, Chip Saltsman has already sent out a commemorative CD featuring the song "Steele the Magic Negro" to honor this historic event.

It's like that old saying: "The darker the berry, the better chance for getting important legislation passed in a bi-partisan fashion."

Someone I know helped start an organization (non-political) that included Michael Steele as a member. It was an all-volunteer project. Everyone was a professional in the community and an equal partner/investor and would benefit equally if successful. They contributed their own money, time and expertise. The project ended when zoning became an insurmountable obstacle. Afterwards several members discovered not only didn’t Steele contribute any of his share of money for operating costs but was also secretly drawing his lawyers salary, billing the group for every hour he worked. What an unethical weasel.

The article mentions that the GOP is concerned about the party's image. I guess they aren't concerned about their policies that have turned most of their members against them. Most Republicans I know want policies more like Libertarians than what the GOP is doing now.

"Republican party strategists in attendance at the meeting openly fretted about the possibility of electing Dawson, who had acknowledged his membership in a whites-only club, and the signal it would send..."

Right, they are concerned about the "signal", not that he's probably a racist. I thought white-only anything was illegal in this country! Well, with the exception of chicken nuggets and maybe iPods.
