Why I Can't Watch Live Events

After the Janet Jackson Super Bowl debacle, I have a really hard time watching any live television events. I missed the nipple flash when it occurred, but was disgusted the 12 times I watched the event played in slow motion afterwards online. And now we learn of another offensive incident, this time involving the Golden Globes on NBC. It's so awful I don't even want to describe it. I can say it involves Mickey Rourke and Darren Aronofsky. If you want to see it for yourself, I can't stop you.

WARNING: The YouTube video embedded here is highly offensive. If there are any kids around you, please ask that they leave the room. Do not watch this clip if you have to drive a vehicle in the near future. The image will likely be seared into your brain for quite some time. Here it is. Don't watch it. It's stomach-churning. Okay. Here we go:

Did you watch? How was it? Was it as bad as the 18 people who wrote to the FCC complained that it was?

I think it's time to give a show to complainers. Each week they tell the rest of the country what will offend our sensibilities. It should be the first show anyone watches all week.

If anyone has access to the FCC, please pass it along. I am going to get in touch with these patriots.

Sloppy Emo haircuts on old people really piss me off too. That was it, right?

Was it the part where Darren gestures that he thinks Micky is #1?

Pssst... everyone at Golden Globes is drunk. That's why the stars actually show up and have a good time, unlike the stuffy Oscars. They should show it on cable or Pay-per-view.

If it's shown on cable, the GGs should double as a random Roast-a-thon and the celebs should be plied with more liquor.

Awesomeness Overload!
